The average debt for our graduates? Less than you might think
Critics of higher education are rightly concerned about spiraling costs for students and families. Today, higher education seems more out of reach for more people.
Not at ASU.
We are committed to modest tuition adjustments and offer nearly $700 million in financial aid each year. In fact, ASU has the lowest tuition among the three state universities in Arizona, and nearly half of ASU students graduate with no debt. For those who do graduate with debt, the average amount is about $24,000, around $5,000 under the national average — and right around the price of a Honda Civic.
We know, though, that $24,000 is still a lot of money, but unlike a car, it’s an investment that pays off over time. Considering that ASU graduates are widely known as among the most employable in the world, the value of an education here is hard to beat.
